December Pender Post Article

We want to thank all of you coming out to see our production of God of Carnage. We enjoyed putting on the show for you after a couple intense but fun months of rehearsals. Julia and Greg directed the play wonderfully and instilled their vision of this play into the actors, who dove into character and discovered more and more beautiful little ways to portray them, which they added to the performances. An amazing cast made up of Tania, Karen, Larry and Matt was on stage practically the entire show through all the stories’ ups and down, for exciting and calm moments and for the sudden ending of the play leaving the audience momentarily paralyzed. The play was supported behind the scenes by a couple fantastic people. Thanks to Nancy who jumped in as Stage Manager at the last minute and Helen on costumes. Besides the people on cast and crew Solstice Theatre would also like to give a special thanks to Petals & Paws. For months Dorothy and Jan were excited to play with their lilies making sure they ordered them right on time and keep them perfect so they opened up right for show time. Those who saw the show know why we needed a new bunch of lilies for each show. And very generously Petals & Paws decided to donate all the lilies to us so thank you to Dorothy and Jan at Petals & Paws!

Solstice is excited about the new year coming up as we have several play readings planned already. We have just done the reading of ‘Four Weddings and an Elvis’ and on December 19th we will be hosting a reading of ‘It’s a wonderful Life’. Keep your eyes out for a special public reading of ‘A Christmas Carol’.  More readings are planned for January and February. If you would like to join us for one of these readings, whether to be involved or to watch, send an email to [email protected] for more information on the readings and to become a member.
We hope you will have a wonderful holiday season, we look forward to the New Year and to meet you at one of the play readings.
